A Brenton Productions Success Story:
Launching Discovery’s Velocity network
As media giant Discovery began building its own dedicated automotive network, Brenton Productions was tapped to help launch this network – then named Velocity – by developing two original automotive how-to series with opportunities for product integration. The Brenton team answered the call by creating All Girls Garage and Car Fix, which together made up the High Performance Block, a one-hour weekend programming block delivering high-rated, appointment-viewing weekends for automotive enthusiasts and professionals.
As the first automotive how-to TV series featuring an all-female cast, All Girls Garage proved to be a hit – not just with the heavily male audience Velocity was targeting, but with co-viewing audiences and specifically with women in the automotive industry.
In addition to providing Discovery with a hit original automotive series for both US and global audiences, All Girls Garage also created a vehicle for major Discovery advertisers like Mothers Polish, Safelite, and Castrol to find organic placement within real automotive projects, moving beyond conventional ad spots to become part of the hands-on story.
Although All Girls Garage concluded production in 2024, its legacy continues to fuel Warner Bros. Discovery’s automotive content strategy. The 12 seasons produced by Brenton remain a trusted programming asset, airing on Discovery Turbo (formerly MotorTrendTV) and streaming on Discovery Turbo FAST channel, Discovery+ and HBO Max – continuing to deliver value and automotive inspiration to engaged viewers everywhere.
