Meet The Host
Ian Johnson began building off-road vehicles when he was 17 years old. He pursued a career as an automotive technician, obtaining his certification in both Automotive and Heavy Truck and Coach, specializing in driveline repair.
After completing his diploma in Education, Ian started teaching high school automotive mechanics and welding.
For 14 years, Ian was the host, technical producer, and sole on-site builder in over 300 half-hour episodes of Xtreme 4×4, the first serious off-road how-to TV show. Now five seasons of MotorTrendTV’s FourWheeler under his belt as well, Ian continues to set the standard for creating rugged, custom-made machines with Build for Off Road and is always on the cutting edge of the next trend.
